Emails and Fundraising
What I've learned about my topic is that I need to figure out a way to gain enough money to buy supplies to help me paint my mural. I have more than enough people who are willing to help me paint the actual thing, now I just need to figure out how to get paint, brushes, and anything else I'd need along the way. I've participated in fundraisers for my swim team through the years so I was thinking I could do something that my team has done, but for my project. So I was thinking maybe I can start a car wash, or something along those lines of a basic fundraiser. It's hard to tell how much paint I'll need too because I haven't heard back from any of the private businesses I've emailed. I've kept up with drawing though and doodled only the flowers I want to include in my mural when I'm doodling during class and I drew a lot over Spring Break. I'm almost finished with my final draft. However it feels like drawing now is more of a chore rather than something I like to do. It used to be sort of a stress relief for me whereas now I'm really nervous when I draw and I don't usually like what I end up drawing. It's really hard to like the pictures I make now. Although my final draft is almost complete. I don't think I have enough time left to create this perfect idea that I have for my mural. The only main setbacks though is how I don't have the money and space to actually paint my mural yet. The next step is to figure out total costs and contact more private businesses around Santa Clarita. The other part is figuring out how long it will take to actually paint a mural. I need to figure out a way to paint a mural as quickly as possible because I can't during weekdays and I can't on Sunday mornings either. So time management is important.

I like how ambitious you're being with your idea! I helped paint a mural at the New Leash on Life animal shelter here in Santa Clarita and it was very fun. We raised enough money to buy all our supplies by having a garage sale (every one brought at least 5 items and we ended up making over $300). If everyone who wants to participate is willing to give 5 good items to sell, I'm sure your issue with funding will be solved. Is your goal to make one large mural or are you okay with making a few smaller ones?

This is such a cool idea! Your sample flowers are so pretty. For your fundraiser you could even sell some of your smaller pieces and see how much you make from that. How big is your mural going to be? And are you looking at displaying it anywhere after your done? I hope you can get the supplies you need!
