Introduction 

Ever since I was a kid I've always been fascinated with nature. Growing up in Minnesota, my mother had created a fairly diverse garden all by herself. Beautiful flowers were everywhere. Another thing that I've always been fascinated with is art. Georgia O'Keeffe is one of my favorite artists. She's known for her beautiful paintings of flowers. At the end of 7th grade my mom made the decision to move to California. My first impression of Santa Clarita was how boring and brown it is. I feel like everywhere I look there's the same brown color and I loathe it. It's a goal of mine to become a better artist and create a more creative community. So for my 20% time project I've chosen to improve in painting flowers and give back to my community by going to city hall and/or privately owned businesses with my own floral design and ask for permission to create a mural. I want to create at least one mural before the end of the semester. I will measure my process by uploading pictures of drawings I've created to see how I have improved. Once I feel comfortable enough with my drawings, I will create a final draft and then measure my mural process by making it a goal to email or contact x amount of people about painting a mural a week.
